Fall Book Fair a Huge Success

The PTA receives 25% of total sales to help support their numerous expenses.

One For Books was a success as well, so Scholastic will donate one book to charity for every "One For Books" dollar we raised. Farragut donated about $900 to this cause. We were able to use our One For Books money to buy books for the Farragut Library and our librarian is very grateful.

We had many parent volunteers who gave their time, energy and care to the parents and kids who came to visit. PTA generously donated gift certificates to the teachers so that they can continue to grow their individual class libraries. Parents and children also made valuable book donations to their teachers and the library at Farragut, which the kids will have to read very soon.

I couldn't have chaired such a successful Book Fair without each and every volunteer. Thank you! I would like to give a special thank you to Eugenie Lago, Melissa Lane, Kayla Check, and Dina Wahlert - my main team of helping moms. They kept me grounded, donated their time before and during the Fair and sported all around great attitudes. You were a huge support for me.

We still have an online component that we are trying for the first time this fall. If successful, we will offer this again at our next Book Fair in May.

Keep reading to your kids and plan to join us again in the Spring when we have our Book Fair-Luau May 21-24th, it will be a fun treat for all.
